Seisense Business Review (SBR) publishes original, high-quality scholarship in marketing, supply chain management, and related disciplines. The journal gives priority to empirically advanced research that demonstrates methodological rigor, analytical depth, and a clear scholarly contribution. Exceptionally strong theoretical, conceptual, and review papers may also be considered where they offer originality, intellectual depth, and clear relevance to the field.

MANDATORY STEP BEFORE SUBMISSION: GENERATE YOUR SUBMISSION FILES

All manuscripts must be processed through the Manuscript Formatter before submission:

https://seisense.com/format-my-manuscript/

The formatter checks your manuscript against these guidelines. Once all required checks are passed, it generates the two Microsoft Word files that must be uploaded to OJS:

  • File 1: Title Page and Declarations
  • File 2: Blinded Manuscript

If the formatter reports any item under "Must fix", the files are not created and the manuscript cannot be submitted. Resolve each item and run the formatter again. Items listed under "Please check" are advisories, but authors are expected to address them.

Only the two files generated by the formatter are accepted. Submissions that do not include both generated files, or that include files prepared by other means, will be returned without review.

Passing the formatter confirms compliance with formatting and reporting requirements only. It does not indicate acceptance for peer review. Manuscripts that pass are assessed separately by the editor for scope, originality, contribution, and methodological rigor.

AIMS AND SCOPE

SBR welcomes manuscripts that make a meaningful contribution to research, theory, or practice at the interface of marketing and supply chain management. Submissions should be firmly grounded in the relevant literature, address a clear research problem, and demonstrate relevance to contemporary scholarly and industry debates. The journal particularly welcomes work with international relevance and contributions that extend beyond a narrowly local setting. SBR's focus areas include:

  • Marketing: consumer behavior, digital and social media marketing, brand management, marketing strategy, and marketing analytics.
  • Supply Chain and Operations Management: logistics, procurement, supply chain resilience, operations strategy, and sustainable or green supply chains.
  • Marketing-Supply Chain Interface: demand planning, omnichannel and customer experience, retail and distribution strategy, and service delivery.
  • Applied Analytics and Technology: data-driven decision making, digital transformation, and AI applications specifically within demand and supply functions.

ARTICLE TYPES

SBR considers the following categories of manuscript:

  • Empirical research articles
  • Theoretical papers
  • Conceptual papers
  • Review papers with a clear scholarly contribution

The journal prioritizes empirically advanced studies. Theoretical, conceptual, and review submissions are considered selectively and must meet a high threshold of originality, rigor, and contribution.

ORIGINALITY AND EXCLUSIVITY

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. They must make a clear contribution to knowledge and must not substantially reproduce previously published work, including the authors' own. Manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope or do not meet minimum scholarly standards may be declined at initial editorial screening.

MANUSCRIPT LENGTH

Manuscripts must be between 5,000 and 10,000 words, excluding tables, figures, and references.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

Authors should prepare their manuscripts in a clear, professional, and consistent academic style. Manuscripts should normally include:

  • Title
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review and Hypotheses Development, where applicable
  • Methodology
  • Findings
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • References

Theoretical, conceptual, and review papers may use alternative structures, provided the manuscript remains coherent, rigorous, and logically developed.

TITLE, ABSTRACT, AND KEYWORDS

The title should be concise, specific, and informative, and should avoid unnecessary abbreviations and acronyms.

The abstract must be 150 to 200 words, excluding section labels, and structured under the following headings:

  • Objective
  • Design
  • Findings
  • Policy Implications
  • Originality

Authors should provide 4 to 6 keywords that accurately reflect the content of the manuscript and support discoverability.

AUTHOR INFORMATION

For each author, provide full name, department, institution, country, email address, and ORCID iD. Biographical notes are optional and limited to 100 to 150 words per author. SBR accepts a maximum of four authors per manuscript.

The contributor list entered in OJS must match the Title Page and Declarations file exactly: the same authors, in the same order, with the same affiliations. Any change to authorship after submission requires a written request signed by all authors.

SUBMISSION FILES

Both files are generated by the Manuscript Formatter (see the mandatory step above) and uploaded to OJS in Microsoft Word format.

1. Title Page and Declarations. Contains the article title; names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID iDs of all authors, with the corresponding author designated; and all required declarations: Ethics Statement, Informed Consent, Data Availability, Funding, Conflict of Interest, Author Contributions (CRediT), and Use of Generative AI. Biographical notes may be included if applicable.

2. Blinded Manuscript. Contains the title, abstract, keywords, main text, and references only. It must not contain author names, acknowledgments, declarations, institutional identifiers, or any other information that could reveal the identity of the authors. The Methodology section should describe consent and data collection procedures in anonymized terms.

Declarations from the Title Page and Declarations file are inserted into the article at the production stage and appear in the published version.

STYLE AND PRESENTATION

Use clear section headings, consistent formatting, and precise academic language. Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively, clearly titled, and cited in the text. Define abbreviations at first use. Proofread the manuscript carefully before submission for clarity, grammatical accuracy, and consistency.

REFERENCING

SBR follows APA 7th edition only. In-text citations and the reference list must match fully: every citation must appear in the reference list, and every listed reference must be cited in the text. Every reference must carry a year (or "n.d."). Mixing APA 6th and 7th edition styles is not permitted. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as EndNote, Mendeley, or Zotero so that citations remain properly linked and machine-readable. Where available, each reference should include its DOI as a clickable URL.

ETHICAL AND POLICY REQUIREMENTS

Authors are responsible for full compliance with the journal's policies on authorship, ethics approval, informed consent, conflicts of interest, funding disclosure, data availability, originality, and the use of generative AI tools. Full policy details: https://journal.seisense.com/sbr/policy

ETHICS STATEMENT AND DATA AVAILABILITY

Every manuscript must include an Ethics Statement in the Title Page and Declarations file, in line with the journal's Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement. Studies with ethics approval must report the committee name, approval number, and date. Studies that did not require approval must state this explicitly with a brief justification. Approved ethics statement templates covering all study designs are available here.

Every manuscript must also include a Data Availability Statement.

SUBMISSION AND EDITORIAL SCREENING

Manuscripts must be submitted through OJS, with both formatter-generated files uploaded. Every submission undergoes initial editorial screening, typically completed within 2 business days, to assess fit with the journal's scope, scholarly contribution, writing quality, and methodological rigor. SBR prioritizes empirically advanced manuscripts and may decline submissions before peer review where empirical depth, conceptual strength, or overall quality is insufficient.

PEER REVIEW AND REVISION

Manuscripts that pass editorial screening proceed to double-blind peer review. Decisions are typically communicated within approximately 60 days, although review times may vary. Where revisions are requested, authors are normally expected to submit a revised manuscript within 2 to 3 weeks unless the editor advises otherwise.
